Definition of the activities we carry out and their degrees of difficulty
and the physical demands that are considered

If we are going to do alternative tourism, should we recognize the different activities that WaJu Trekking offers? , for that we define that it is hiking or trekking, walking or hiking (hiking), mountaineering or ascents to the high mountains, climbing, multi-adventures, mountainbike, educational trips, volunteering, etc.

Hiking or walking (or Hiking): it is a pleasant, relaxing activity that involves walking along marked paths or footprints, thus using the traditional system of communication routes. The spirit of hiking, rests on being able to bring people closer to the natural environment, know heritages and reserves through the use of trails. It is an activity for all types of public that have adequate psychophysical conditions to carry it out and generally requires a few hours, half a day and sometimes a full but very leisurely day. WaJu Trekking carries out these activities in places near the City of Córdoba and in the Sierras Chicas and as a complement to some outings in other provinces or neighboring countries. These activities are exclusively for profit.

Trek, is a word that was born in the eighties, and originated by the mountaineers who traveled to the Himalayas or the Andes. With this word they referred to the long walks that brought them closer to the bases of the mountains that they planned to ascend. From here the word Trekking derives.

Hiking or Trekking: unlike Hiking, it is a specialty of mountaineering that demands more physical effort and that at the same time sometimes implies going through places with or without trails and through places where there is or not a path that can be found in mountains. , mountains, valleys and streams, forests, beaches, banks of streams, rivers, lakes and lagoons, river beaches with large rocks, etc., and why not, in the middle of the field, salt flats and even in inhospitable deserts. Our beloved Argentina offers us a variety of landscapes, flora, fauna and climates so diverse that they transform it into an ideal geographical area for this activity, and even more so the Sierras de Córdoba, where most of the trekkings carried out by WaJu Trekking take place. It offers incredible places such as topography with a high mountain climate, such as the Sierras Grandes at some times of the year and even places with lush vegetation and pleasant climates such as the Sierras Chicas.

When we trek we have different degrees of difficulty to consider. In this way we can choose trekking for beginners, or trekking that requires more effort and experience.

For example, a low difficulty trekking can be about walking one day on flat terrain and gentle slopes or very short distances, they are suitable for all people who do not have a sedentary life and who have little experience, the activity of medium difficulty could include a long day of hiking, spending a night camping, having some steep slopes, getting around rough terrain on some occasions and carrying a relatively heavier backpack to have everything you need to survive many hours and have experience in these activities. An activity of high difficulty, they are only suitable for those people who have previous experience, they demand more effort than the previous ones, they are generally in places with greater height above sea level, they last two or more days and the risks are greater; All Trekking activities regardless of the degree of difficulty, the person who performs it must be psychophysically fit and know well their state of health at the time of the activity. WaJu Trekking in these and all the activities tries to respect and make known the environment in which the activities take place.

Knowing this, WaJu Trekking has selected numbered categories that correspond to different degrees of difficulty for Trekking and are detailed below:

Category 1 - Trekking of low difficulty

Category 2 - Trekking of low-medium difficulty

Category 3- Medium-low difficulty trekking

Category 4 - Trekking of medium difficulty

Category 5 - Trekking of medium-high difficulty

These activities are exclusively for profit.

Ascents to the high mountains: it could be defined as the action of climbing mountains, but always out of the desire to improve, in response to a different personal impulse in each one or for the pleasure of reaching a peak and observing the terrain that opens before the eyes . WaJu Trekking only performs climbing activities with minimal difficulties without climbing on ice, or rocks or with super extreme climates, in case of extreme climates and climbing on ice or rock a specific guide will be hired correctly enabled. These activities are exclusively for profit.

Climbing: it is a sports practice that, in its classic modality, consists of climbing or going over rock walls, steep slopes or other natural reliefs characterized by their verticality, using almost all recoverable belay means and the possibility in their progression of using artificial means. It also consists of a sports modality that consists of climbing or going through walls provided with routes equipped with insurance fixed to the wall to guarantee the safety of the climber.

Sport climbing seeks the maximum difficulty of movements so it requires, on the part of the climber, an intense previous preparation. On the natural terrain some paths are "opened" that mark the path of ascension. To open a road, the opener walks the road for the first time, preparing it with special products and securing it. Once this work is finished, the climber has to overcome it, then the route is "chained" and the athlete assigns a level of difficulty. WaJu Trekking only offers very little of this, some 4-degree climbing route and rappelling in places previously equipped for this purpose, hiring a qualified guide for this purpose. These activities are exclusively for profit.

Multi-adventures: this activity consists of combining Trekking of medium and / or low difficulty or a combination of both with camps and challenges to overcome yourself. On terrain that requires a certain physical skill, to which grade 3 and / or 4 climbing, rappelling, zip-lining, etc. can be added or not. Waju Trekking carries out these activities of two, three and four days in the headwaters of the Mina Clavero River, in case of zip-lining or climbing a specific guide will be hired for this purpose. These activities are exclusively for profit.

Mountabike: this activity costs in pedaling on bicycles through the mountains, along paths, tracks and even vehicular dirt or gravel roads, Waju Trekking performs this activity in two difficulties, one is through the pampa de Achala where there are small slopes up and down and It demands a certain physical effort, it is suitable for people with experience and the other difficulty are activities that are more pleasant but that require not so much experience but concentration and prudence, which is to descend from El Condor to Copina through the hanging bridges and another place other than It is also to descend from the Giulio Cesare Park to Mina Clavero by the artisans' path suitable for all public who have adequate psychophysical conditions and master the driving of the mountain bike. This activity will soon be available once the corresponding authorization is acquired and possess the bicycles as the means of transportation. Once these activities are enabled, they will be exclusively for profit.

.

Educational Trips: these outings are with schools, institutions, public or private, groups, etc., it consists of going out to a natural area mainly with some category of conservation inside and outside the Province of Cordoba, doing environmental interpretation and some action for the benefit of that area, these activities are for profit and depends on the economic situation of those who demand them.

.

Volunteering: these are activities that can be carried out by all people, groups, schools and institutions that voluntarily decide to collaborate in the tasks of conservation, restoration and reforestation within the Provincial Hydric Reserve of Achala in different places destined for this purpose, mainly being the Cerro Largo in the town of Los Gigantes, the place with the greatest activity in the coming years, the activities are: gathering tobacco seeds and other species from the large mountains, armed repair and maintenance of the nursery, planting and pealing of mainly tobacco seedlings (polylepis australis) and plantations or reforestation activities with tobacco, assembly, repair and maintenance of fences that allow the area to be protected mainly from livestock that affects the planted trees, maintenance tasks of shelter where volunteers stay. Waju runs a reforestation and environmental education program with volunteers and local schools. These activities are purely and exclusively voluntary and non-profit.
